Why do people take/make photographs?
Some people may take images so that they can have a physical copy of any memories, this is quite a subjective view point as this is something that I personally really enjoy I feel like its a personal connection that I have with photography. Other people take photographs to express themselves imaginatively through images they can play around with all different possibilities, they can also make more personal connections with the images they take. Some people also make images to preserve a time or moment in their life or someone around them. They can be used as a way to tell a story and communicate with other people. Photographs also show your interests and personality through what you take photographs of, how you take photographs and what you use. To express this I chose some Tina Barney images I feel as though she does something similar to what I enjoy which is just capturing moments and creating memories through photographs although her images may look quite staged it still represents something specific from that day for her and the people in the image. She also has quite few natural images that are still representing more of her memories.

What skills do you need to be a good photographer?
To be a good photographer you need to be imaginative to make your images interesting and different although trying to make images different can be quite difficult as lots of people can take images of the same things but a way to make something different you could use interesting angles and compositions, you could also have more of the formal elements within the work so that not all images look the same if you aim to have more line or colour within your work it would be different. You should be able to communicate with other people whether its through your images or with people you may be taking images of.

What confuses or frustrates you about photography?
One of the things that frustrates me is not being able to clearly explain or display my idea, if theres an idea that I can visualise but I'm not sure how I would photograph it so that it can clearly get across what I'm trying to show. I find it quite difficult to show how I got to an idea or how I got to series of images its difficult to explain how I got there like what inspired me and why I chose to do something.
