Please, please, please let me get what I want.
For this assignment we had to take a sequence of images that had a narrative behind them, we could take all of the images or use found images we could make up a clear narrative or have something more abstract. All of the images needed to have a common theme within them so that they would fit together in a sequence, within this we needed to include a film still, a found printed image, a portrait and a photograph of a photograph. We were given two hours to complete the task it was quite difficult to think of a narrative in a short amount of time and make sure that we could include everything we needed too.

Duane Michals
Duane Michals is a photographer who creates sequences within his work he often takes images with the same people throughout the images to create a narrative also as if the people are characters telling the story he often incorporates text in his own hand writing it adds more meaning to the images and shows his thought process throughout. Duane Michals images are all in black and white this links them together the pictures have clearly all been taken at a similar time. These images are all sequenced together and it forms one story but the person viewing the images could have a different idea about whats happening within the images it can be interpreted in different ways.
My Images
In this I struggled with creating a narrative that could be sequenced together and make a connection between each image. I feel like they are unrelated to each other whilst I was taking them I thought this because the images I was taking were all very different I couldn't find something in common with them at the start. I think I found this difficult because of the time we had to complete it, it made thinking about a narrative harder. The quote I decided to use related to the images I had taken but the aesthetic doesn't quite fit with the rest of the images. I interpreted the project well I managed to finish the project in time and I think I handled the project quite well with the time constraint it was more difficult I decided to take images of quite a few different things but most of the images show something damaging to the environment or how the environment is damaged. At first I found it difficult to see a link between the images but once I had decided on a sequence I liked they looked better together and I liked the way they looked in the sequence. I didn't take many images so I didn't have many different ones to chose from it made it harder but some of the other images I took were irrelevant to the narrative I had decided on.
My Sequence
I decided to display my images in this way because to me it made the most sense in this order most examples I had seen were the images displayed in straight lines or in a collage format which I didn't think would have made sense with my own images. I felt this was the best way to display because it didn't show a clear order it could be looked at in any way so that as different people viewed it they were able to interpret it in their own way to make up their own narrative whilst using my images. I think if I had more time to do this task I would have been able to create a better sequence with a better narrative I also would be able to take more images so that I could of refined them, I also could have looked at some artists to get inspiration for my narrative.
